FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

HOW SHOULD I PAY?

There are several options to choose from. Payment by check or credit card is preferred and payment is required immediately following the end of the session. I use square for credit card payments, which is a safe and secured payment company with receipts.

HOW WILL I GET MY IMAGES?

Digitals are included in every session package. You will receive your images, usually through email, with a link to a personalized online gallery from which you can download the files straight to your computer. Completion of images depends on the type of session, but feel free to inquire.

CAN YOU EDIT THIS?

A lot of work goes into these portraits to make them look absolutely perfect, and that includes touch-ups. Don’t be worried about scratches, scars, fungus or other blemishes, and if you are feel free to ask and I will remove them free of charge.

However, this will not completely clean a dirty horse, and the cleanest as possible the better! Keeping in mind, as well, that the more editing the longer it will take to receive the images, but I want you to be absolutely happy with every image you receive!

I cannot edit off bridles or thick halters. If you wish to have your horse bare without any equipment, I would suggest a very thin rope halter with a lead rope or lunge line, which I can very easily edit out of the image. Same is applied to dog harnesses and collars. Feel free to inquire about different options!

WHAT SHOULD I DO TO PREPARE?

All sessions offered by Kaleigh Rings Photography are laid back, worry-free experiences.

The amount of preparation is completely up to you, but there are several suggestions for the equine portraits as they are very highly detailed. I’d suggest you do whatever show preparation that you might do for a competition, for example: clipped, clean, make up, and clean bridle. Clipped ears and muzzle are not entirely necessary, but very highly suggested. Horses are also not required to be braided, but I really recommend it if you have the means!

Recommendations for canine portraits have similar grooming requirements. Please make sure your dog is freshly groomed, I highly recommend a visit to your local groomer, you don’t want a matted or tangled coat for your photoshoot.

For those seeking portraits of their animals in a professional environment (like a zoo), I understand that your animals can’t necessarily be groomed. Instead, I suggest knowing what behaviors you want photos of. For most species, I suggest to ask a sit or stand, but by no means is that required. I also highly recommend asking your animal for novelty behaviors for more unique portraits.

Location is pretty important for these sessions. For equine and canine, any sort of greenery or barn architecture is the best kind of backdrops.  An assistant is extremely helpful if available as well. For equine, I suggest the bridle that the horse usually goes in, with usually a metal snaffle being the best — but figure 8’s and other jumper, dressage, and western bits are welcome. For canine, I suggest to bring a variety of collars, bows, and bandanas. Professional gear such as mobility harnesses, Modern Icon, or K9 Tactical gear is also welcome. For portraits without any gear, please ensure your dog knows a solid sit/stay and recall. For trick poses, please have a list of tricks you would like to include.

For wildlife portraits, I understand that location is limited to the space you are given. If there are any spots within the habitat that have less fencing and a more natural background, that would be preferred; however, I would rather the animals to feel comfortable doing a training session in a location that they are familiar with for more successful photos.

Before an equine session starts, have the reins removed and a lead rope attached to the bit, which will be edited out, just used for keeping control while easily switching sides!

For liberty sessions, an enclosed paddock area is all that is required. If you’d like your horse ‘bare’ I would recommend a very thin rope halter, which I could then edit out.

Remember to bring their favorite treats as well!

CAN I ORDER PRINTS OR CANVAS?

Of course! I work in tangent with several printing companies to offer you physical prints in multiple sizes with various types. Purchases can be made directly in your Pixieset gallery you will receive with your images, where the entire store of all the products are available to browse. There are plenty of options and prices available, so inquire for your exact options. Select the Products tab in the main menu to head to my product page for detailed pricing.

It is not necessary to pay for prints or canvas immediately after the session, you can take your time to decide what images you’d like printed.

If there are other options that you want to explore, such as albums or wall art, feel free to inquire. I’m extremely flexible with any creative ideas you might have.
